It's official! I'm going to Japan!!!

I've been lucky enough to secure a Light Fellowship for a yearlong term and recently accepted admission into the Inter-University Center for Japanese Studies in Yokohama. I'm really excited about living in a big city on my own in Japan (so far I've been restricted to small cities with host families), but a little wary about the huge workload of kanji studying, reading, and writing that I have coming my way. The program starts on September 1st, so I'm thinking of trying to get there around August 27th the latest so I'll have time to settle in and get over jetlag. Thus far, cheap plane ticket hunting hasn't been fruitful but I trudge on.
