Cheap and Cheerful
During my regular perusal of japantimes.co.jp, I came across an article on a useful blog called nihonhacks. The hacks doesn't refer to computer hacking which some of you (that is, me) might first think, but rather "tricks" or "tips" for living in Japan. Some of the hacks are pretty useful- like where to get copies of past JLPT exams to how to turn old cooked rice into yummy 増水 (rice soup). I'm not sure I'll go so far as to follow the advice on how to get cheap steaks (ie. go to the supermarket, stake out the meat you want, and wait until the day before it expires to buy it at discount), but the site has some useful hacks on how to save yen here and there.
